The flex did seem stiffer than other directional boards in their line which was a bit surprising, but it wasn’t so overwhelming you couldn’t drive the board through carves or over snow. Personal Thoughts: This board was fun and while a bit toned down compared to other Rossignols in terms of tech it fits the category it’s trying to reach. Rider in Mind: Someone that wants a little camber, a good sidecut, and a directional flex/stance they can take all over the mountain. The Taipan has a progressive directional twin shape capped off with AmpTek All Mountain camber to give it the ability to ride the pipe or the powder equally. Over all this is a board you can be aggressive or mellow on depending on your mood. I wouldn’t call this board a jib stick by any means.Ĭarving: Railing hard aggressive turns the sidecut engaged easily and locked you in through the carve. The tail on the other hand takes a bit more work. Jibbing: The nose has an immense sweet spot for presses due to the rocker and softer flex. Just be prepared to work for it and fight the rebound of the camber zone. Never once did it falter when popping off a lip.īutterability: Obviously with the directional flex the nose is easier to press and play on than the tail. Pop On Jumps: Jumps were a breeze with this deck. Out of the Rossignol line up this could very well have the most snap. Loading up the camber zone actuates the rockered tail which then proceeds to launch you off natural features and onto urban approach rails/boxes.
